A Geometric Projection-Space Reconstruction Algorithm*

چکیده
We present a method to reconstruct images from finite sets of noisy projections that may be available only over limited or sparse angles. The algorithm calculates the maximum a posteriori (MAP) estimate of the full sinogram (which is an image of the 2-D Radon transform of the object) from the available data. It is implemented using a primal-dual constrained optimization procedure that solves a partial differential equation in the primal phase with an efficient local relaxation algorithm and uses a simple Lagrange-multiplier update in the dual phase. The sinogram prior probability is given by a Markov random field (MRF) that includes information about the mass, center of mass, and convex hul,l of the object, and about the smoothness, fundamental constraints, and periodicity of the 2-D Radon transform. The object is reconstructed using convolution backprojection applied to the estimated sinogram. We show several reconstructed objects which are obtained from simulated limitedand sparse-angle data using the described algorithm, and compare these results with images obtained using convolution backprojection directly.

Target detection Bridge Modelling using Point Cloud Segmentation Obtained from Photogrameric UAV
In recent years, great efforts have been made to generate 3D models of urban structures in photogrammetry and remote sensing. 3D reconstruction of the bridge, as one of the most important urban structures in transportation systems, has been neglected because of its geometric and structural complexity. Due to the UAV technology development in spatial data acquisition, in this study, the point cl...

Introduction: Recent studies of Computed Tomography (CT) conducted on patient dose reduction have recommended using an iterative reconstruction algorithm and mA (mili-Ampere) dose modulation. The current study aimed to evaluate Iterative Dose Reduction Algorithm (IDREAM) as an iterative reconstruction algorithm. Material and Methods: Two CT p...
متن کاملFast System Matrix Calculation in CT Iterative Reconstruction
Introduction: Iterative reconstruction techniques provide better image quality and have the potential for reconstructions with lower imaging dose than classical methods in computed tomography (CT). However, the computational speed is major concern for these iterative techniques. The system matrix calculation during the forward- and back projection is one of the most time- cons...
متن کاملWhat does 2D geometric information really tell us about 3D face shape?
A face image contains geometric cues in the form of configurational information and contours that can be used to estimate 3D face shape. While it is clear that 3D reconstruction from 2D points is highly ambiguous if no further constraints are enforced, one might expect that the face-space constraint solves this problem. We show that this is not the case and that geometric information is an ambi...
متن کاملProjection Operation for Multidimensional Geometric Modeling with Real Functions
We discuss di erent techniques to projecting geometric objects de ned by real functions of several variables. The result of this operation is an object of the lower dimension with its own de ning function. We discuss several approaches: analytical methods, approximate projections and global maximum searches. The accuracy is compared for two algorithms: the union of maximal cross-sections and th...

For realistic virtual model generation two main problems have to be solved: to achieve the required geometric accuracy in object description and to obtain the highest reachable texture similarity. Recently digital close-range photogrammetry offers precise and flexible means for the first problem solution accurate geometric 3D reconstruction. Besides images acquired for 3D reconstruction can be ...
